The Books
My five GMAT books cover all of GMAT math. I recently updated all of the books to ensure they reflect the changes to the test in the new Focus edition. My books
- teach absolutely everything you will need to know for GMAT Quant. When I write my books, I go through a database of thousands of official questions, and I make sure my books teach what you would need to know to answer all of them
- include dozens of realistic medium-to-very-hard practice problems
- are written specifically for higher-level test takers
My books teach the best ways to do GMAT math. I have analyzed thousands of official problems in every topic and have worked out the approaches that will let you answer any question, and that will let you answer every question quickly. At the high level of the test, the GMAT is truly testing your conceptual understanding. The formulas and plug-into-a-table methods taught by most prep companies don’t work on harder questions (if they did, most people would get a Q90). There are better ways to do math. My goal is to ensure you always genuinely understand what you’re doing, so my books teach conceptual understanding and flexibility, and they prioritize logical and visual thinking over algebra and memorization. Using my approaches, I not only get a perfect score any time I take a real GMAT or official diagnostic, I get that score averaging about one minute per question. That’s not because I’m especially fast at algebra or arithmetic. It’s because the way I approach the test lets you answer questions far more quickly than any prep company method would.
Who My Books Are For: Because my books focus on conceptual understanding, and because the practice questions are all above medium-level, my books are not appropriate for someone still working on their mathematical fundamentals. I’d only recommend them to someone scoring over Q75 on practice tests. If you’re not yet at that level, I would recommend you build your foundation further before using my materials.

The Problem Sets
I have four problem sets available, each containing 217 questions (the equivalent of 7 official GMAT Quant sections). The questions are mostly very difficult. If you are scoring in the Q81+ range, my problem sets will give you realistic high-level practice – they will help you answer hard questions on the real test, and the more hard questions you can answer, the higher your score will be. If you are not yet scoring in that range, I would not suggest you use my problem sets yet – instead I’d suggest my books, which will help you improve to that level. Note that for now, the Problem Sets have not been updated for the new Focus test, which means a small number of the questions (the diagram-based Geometry problems and the abstract DS problems) are no longer relevant. I will be creating new Focus problem sets some time in mid or late 2025.
Each problem set is organized by topic, contains a mix of Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency questions, and contains complete, detailed solutions. There is no overlap between the questions in my problem sets and those in my books.
If you are considering only buying some of the problem sets, these are the important differences among them:
- Sets 1 and 2 are similar, and emphasize PS questions. Set 2 is slightly harder than Set 1, and is the hardest of the four sets
- Set 3 contains many more Word Problems than the other sets, and fewer problems on other topics.
- Set 4 emphasizes logic and conceptual thinking more than difficult word translation and algebra. It also has more DS than any of the other sets.
The questions in my problem sets are handcrafted, and were developed over many years. They’re not like the problems in other “challenge” sets available in the GMAT market. Each question is designed to extend your conceptual understanding, and to show you new ways a familiar math concept can be tested, since that’s how you’ll be tested on the real GMAT.
Official questions should be your highest priority, but there aren’t enough high-level official questions available. If you’ve exhausted official sources, and need additional high-level questions for practice, my problem sets include the most realistic questions you’ll find.
